Fans of Major League Baseball’s all-time greatest closer and comic books alike will certainly appreciate this extremely rare 12x18-inch Brian Kong print from the 2013 New York Comic Convention of Yankees icon Mariano Rivera. The print, modeled after the famed X-MEN 138 cover, depicts Rivera walking away from baseball with the message “EXIT SANDMAN!” in the bottom right corner. Rivera has signed the print in bold, blue Sharpie with a four-line inscription that reads “Exit Sandman, 2013 Final Season, Last to wear #42, all-time saves leader.” The print features Kong’s signature in bold, blue Sharpie in the bottom left corner with an accompanying “NYCC 2013!” inscription. The limited edition print, numbered “11/42,” is chock full of intricacies, including several images of Rivera and one of five of his teammates watching as he rides of into the sunset after what is sure to be a Hall of Fame career.
