One of the most dominant sluggers in an era of dominant sluggers, Jim Thome appears to be headed for Cooperstown sometime in the near future. Thome’s 612 career home runs rank him seventh all-time between Ken Griffey Jr.’s 630 and Sammy Sosa’s 609, his 1,699 RBI ranks 24th between Reggie Jackson’s 1,702 and Cal Ripken Jr.’s 1,695. Thome signed this attractive 1998 dark blue Cleveland Indians button-down, road jersey with a “#25” inscription in bold black Sharpie on the 5 in his number 25 stitched in red tackle twill and white trim on the back. Thome’s name is stitched in the same red with white trim onto a matching color nameplate above his number. A red, white and blue A.L. Champs patch referring to the Indians 1997 pennant winning season is on the right shoulder and the Indians Chief Wahoo logo adorns the left. A Russell Athletic/Diamond Collection size-50 label is affixed to the left front shirt tail with 1998 and +1 Sleeve End and -1 Sleeve Length and 1” Extra Length tags attached. Jersey comes with letter of authenticity from game worn jersey expert Dave Miedema and PSA/DNA certification of signature.
