IN the mid-1960s Larry Brown was the starting second baseman for the Cleveland Indians, but by 1972, he was a reserve middle infielder for the eventual World Champion Oakland A’s. This white pullover knit jersey has the A’s emblem on the left breast with the number “8” on the right side. Inside the front tail is the “McAuliffe Uniform Corp” manufacturers tag with “1972” year tag and size “40” tag, all stitched into the fabric. A wash tag is on the one side. The reverse has his name “BROWN” across the back with the number “8” below, both stitched directly on the fabric. Except for the name, all numbers and lettering are in the standard gold-on-kelly green tackle twill. Both sleeves and the V-neck have the alternating green and gold colors. This jersey is perfect 1970s in every respect, form the first of the three consecutive Oakland World Series titles. LOA from Dave Miedema, noted game used jersey expert.
