This lot closes on May 22nd, 2021 at 10:00 PM EDT for initial bids.Two years before Michael Jordan’s famed 1986-87 Fleer Rookie Card, there were his 1984-85 Star cards – a scarcer and more difficult to obtain collectible. Jordan appears twice in the set, once with the Chicago Bulls and another with the 1984 U.S. Olympic team.
Presented here is a rare, full uncut sheet of 100 cards of that early set, including both Jordan cards in the 288-card set. The Jordan base card appears in the top, right corner while the Olympian card appears in the bottom, right segment. Each team is blocked off with its own colors, creating a piece of modern artwork within this 30x40’’ dazzling uncut sheet. The sheet looks impressive in its frame creating a stunning collectible.
It is only upon close inspection that flaws are found on this piece. Few wrinkles appear on the sheet along with minor surface scratches. A crease appears to be on the Alvin Robertson card section. The Jordan Bulls’ card seems virtually untouched with what might appear to be a minor surface scratch. The Jordan Olympic card has minor flaws, but is still very pleasing to the eye.
