A 10-season run without a trip to the World Series ended under Jim Fregosi’s watch managing an entertaining Philadelphia Phillies team that included personalities such as John Kruk, Darren Daulton, Lenny Dykstra and Mitch “Wild Thing” Williams. This gray, button-down Phillies road jersey was worn by Fregosi during Philadelphia’s six-game loss to Toronto in the 1993 World Series. Fregosi signed the jersey in bold, black Sharpie just below the “Phillies” emblem that is scripted across the chest in red-on-white tackle twill. “FREGOSI” appears across the back of the jersey with his number “11” also on the back and left sleeve in red-on-white tackle twill. The right sleeve of the jersey features an official stitched “1993 World Series” patch with a red stitched Russell Athletic logo below. The front tail of the jersey features a Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag with size 48. The jersey, which shows evidence of light use, comes with PSA certification and a LOA from noted jersey expert Dave Miedema.
