The 1972 Old Timer’s Day theme at Yankee Stadium was a celebration of five decades of Yankees American League championship teams that played in the 1922, 1932, 1942, 1952 and 1962 World Series. Six of the participants on hand signed this four sided, two-page, folding program on its front cover which features the front covers of the five World Series programs on its cover. The informative program provides capsule accounts of the five World Series and lists both the Yankees alumni and opponent guests. Those on hand who signed the program include: George “High Pockets” Kelly who played first base for the New York Giants, who defeated the Yankees in the 1922 Series, Waite Hoyt who pitched for the 1922 Yankees and roomed with Babe Ruth’s suitcase on the road, Earl Combs the starting centerfielder for the 1932 World Series champion Yankees, Bill Dickey catcher for the 1932 and 1942 World Series champion teams, Joe McCarthy who managed the 1932 and 1942 championship teams and Lloyd “Little Poison” Warner, Hall of Fame outfielder who spent most of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates and played against the Yankees in the 1927 Series. Signatures are of high quality in a combination of black marker and ball pen ink and come with a PSA/DNA COA (#D06878).
