One of Major League Baseball’s top all-around second basemen, Brandon Phillips continues to impress with the glove and bat for the Cincinnati Reds. The four-time Gold Glove winner and three-time All-Star posted a career-high 103 RBIs in 2013 while connecting for 18 home runs. This black game-used Louisville Slugger BP4 baseball bat features Phillips signature in bold, silver Sharpie with the inscription “Game Used 2013” prominently on the weathered barrel. Phillips leaves no doubt that this bat saw significant game use. The slightly cracked handle is caked in pine tar that extends more than halfway up the bat. Pinkish streaks along the barrel reveal rack marks and grain swelling also is evident. Ball and spike marks litter the bat throughout. The knob of the bat has two engravings, the first “04/10/13” indicating its age and the other “35.0/32.0” for the bat’s length and weight (in ounces). The singed bat is certified by both PSA/DNA (number 5A34453) and MLB Authentication (number EK490664).
