Opening Day Auction 2014

Few current players in Major League Baseball carry the pedigree and clout that Albert Pujols does. The three-time NL MVP and two-time World Series champion with the Cardinals will surely be the next slugger to reach the 500-home run plateau, as Pujols sat at 492 entering the 2014 season. These signed, size 12.5 Nike Air Max Diamond Elite MSC game used cleats are consistent with the ones worn by Pujols in the 2011 season, his final in St. Louis that concluded with a World Series win over the Texas Rangers. Pujols’ signature appears on both cleats in bold, black Sharpie, however the signature on the left foot is somewhat obstructed by a smattering of baseline chalk that adds to the item’s authenticity. The back of the cleats feature red loops that read “PUJOLS,” while the heels of the cleats feature a white stitched number “5” with a navy blue silhouette of Pujols in his batting stance. “WWJD,” a religious acronym for the term “What Would Jesus Do?,” is stitched in white on both cleats. The cleats exhibit moderate signs of game use, including dirt still trapped in the spikes on the bottom of the shoes. The left cleat is certified by MLB Authentication, number “FJ870507,” while the right cleat is certified by PSA/DNA, number “P81660.” Cleats authenticated by MEARS.
