Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran engaged in three epic battles, the first two of which coming just five months apart in June and November of 1980, and each contributing immensely to both fighter’s lasting legacies. Duran took Leonard’s welterweight championship winning a unanimous decision in the first bout in Montreal, but Leonard avenged the loss five months later in New Orleans when Duran quit in the closing seconds of the eighth round of what would come to be known as the infamous “No Mas” fight. Nine years later Leonard won a unanimous decision over Duran when both fighters were nearing the end of their careers. Leonard and Duran both signed this green leather finish, commemorative WBC World Champion belt with a colorful logo centerpiece circled in multiple rings containing flags of the world’s countries and four cameo images of heavyweight champions Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson and Joe Lewis. Both Leonard and Duran signed the belt in bold silver Sharpie with Leonards signature appearing on the right side with an “H O F 97” inscription. Duran’s signature is on the left with PSA/DNA certification sticker #5A48969.
