Walter Johnson is one of the greatest pitchers of all time, wining 417 career games. For many of those wins, his catcher was the sturdy Muddy Ruel, who became the Washington starting catcher in 1923, the first season they made the World Series. This well worn, darkly-toned baseball contains this potent battery with a solid “Walter Johnson” signature across the sweet spot, with the south panel an “M Ruel” signature. Each fountain pen signature is “4-5” in strength and fully legible. Ball has several scrapes, barely affecting the Johnson signature. Full LOA from JSA, cert number X88038.
