When a basketball player gets thrown into discussions with the likes of Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins, you’re talking about a special talent. Vince Carter catapulted himself into NBA fame thanks to his acrobatic dunking ability, drawing comparisons to the aforementioned Hall of Famers. Carter sported these Puma Vinsanity sneakers when he debuted with Toronto in a 1998-99 season that saw him win Rookie of the Year after averaging 18.3 points per game. According to reports, Carter moved on from Puma after just one season, making these sneakers rare. Carter’s signature appears on both size 16 sneakers in bold, silver Sharpie right across the toes. The black sneakers feature white Puma markings on both the inside and outside of the foot, while the Puma cat logo appears on the tongue, heel and bottom of the sneakers. The sneakers show evidence of game use, including creasing behind the toes and slight wear at the front of the right sneaker, likely from Carter pushing off with the foot when he jumps.
