The Mets powerful young pitching staff was the primary reason for the team’s “Amazing” 1969 World Series Championship season. Seaver went 25-7 with a 2.21 ERA in 273 innings and won the Cy Young Award. Lefty Jerry Koosman was 17-9 with a 2.28 ERA in 241 innings in just his second big league season, while 22-year-old Nolan Ryan was still developing and went 6-3 with a 3.53 ERA in 10 starts and 15 relief appearances but also came up big throwing seven shutout innings against the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS clincher. Gary Gentry was also just 22 and went 13-12 with a 3.43 ERA in his 35 starts spanning 233 innings. Sever, Koosman and Ryan each signed this candid photo of the trio sitting in front of their lockers at She Stadium in bold blue Sharpie. Their smiling enthusiasm looks hard to contain and the promise of youth is evident in each of their bearing. It looked like a great time to be young and a Met. The second image is a collage of photos featuring Seaver, Ryan, Gentry and Koosman in individual color images surrounding a classic black and white photo of them together as a staff with a 1969 Shea Stadium World Series press pin logo and is signed by each one in bold blue Sharpie. All of the signatures have been PSA/DNA pre-certified and both of the photos contain a Nolan Ryan signature authentication hologram.
