This lot of eight Whitey Ford original wire photos has been signed by “The Chairman of the Board” boldly in blue or black Sharpie. Each image measures approximately 8” x 10” (a few are smaller) and exhibits Ford in various pitching poses, and with other teammates. A couple photos show Ford in World Series action, while the two color examples are NOT wire photos, but standard signed photos. Condition grades VG to EX/MT, with standard editor production markings (such as grease pencil framing) for newspaper publication. In addition, most photos contain slight wrinkles and crazing with some edge wear. One image has the original paper caption on the reverse, with most having one of the various Press stamps. Original wire photos are a tremendous collectible which capture a single moment in time within baseball history. Total of eight signed Whitey Ford photos. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
