Offered is a very unique image from the greatest pitched game in baseball history, Don Larsen’s World Series perfect game on October 8, 1956. This approximately 7” x 9” image showcases Larsen about to enter the New York Yankee dugout, next to Berra with other Yankees, stadium personnel (ushers, security), maybe a media member or two and even the three base umpires! Yogi is full of glee, and is tightly clutching the famed last-out orb in his meaty right hand. Gil McDougald and Elston Howard are all smiles, too, as they just witnessed greatness. The reverse contains the “World Wide Photo” stamp and has handwritten “Gil McDougald is to the left of Larsen, opposite of Yogi Berra.” Yogi has also applied his bold, blue Sharpie “Yogi Berra” signature. This is the first time we have ever seen this image, and have sent the image to several long time photo collectors, who have never seen this particular image either. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
