Even though Mickey Mantle was coming off back-to-back MVP awards, he still was eager to receive a few tips from the legendary Ty Cobb. This 7” x 9.25” original wire photo was taken during Old Timers festivities on August 9, 1958 at the Stadium, where Cobb expounds his advice to Mickey. Photo has the usual wrinkles, and has a small piece missing from lower left corner. This could easily be matted out for display. Reverse has original paper caption, multiple date stamps and numerous editor pencil markings. First we have ever seen of this fantastic image.
