Each card has been encapsulated and professionally graded or authenticated by PSA, BVG or SGC. A total of 483 different cards comprise this offering. Presented is a near set (403 of 407 cards) of 1952 Topps baseball cards, plus a complete set (80 cards) of the issue's "Low Number" Black Back variations. This is one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" types of offerings that includes almost all of the issue's fascinating subjects. Seldom has a manufacturer produced an extraordinary series of collectibles that serves up such a bountiful feast for both the eye and the soul. But, in 1952, the Topps Company mounted an all-out blitz on Bowman, the established card monolith, by conceiving a set of baseball cards that enabled the company to once-and-for-all raise the victory flag over the trading card market. Topps cards would be bigger, brighter and far more impressive, and unlike anything young pack buyers had ever seen. Featuring statistics, facsimile "autographs," starry borders and eye-catching team logos, every aspect of this classic production vibrates with character. Visually, the series is a masterpiece of color and nostalgia. Little needs to be added in describing what a rare opportunity this is, to obtain not only the nearly complete series but all of the Black Backs, too, in one dramatic acquisition. Condition covers a wide span between PR to FR examples through the VG/EX to EX level with some cards nicer. The array is missing only #'s 232 Cox, 311 Mantle, 332 Bartirome and 392 Wilhelm for completion.
