This lot includes “legitimate” pennants and a few “phantom” pennants. Phantom items (tickets, press pins and pennants) are item produced under time restraints for teams which did not actually attain the status presented or win the series played. This lot of 120 Phillies felt pennants includes a few 1983 World Series Champions items, which the Phils did not accomplish, losing the 1983 Series in five game to the Baltimore Orioles. Includes: Phillies Plain – plain red on white Phillies pennants (64). Phillies Plain - maroon on white (7). 1980 Scroll – Phillies “World Champs We’re #1” with team scroll on left (13). 1980 World Series – with facsimile signatures (1). 1980 World Champs – red on white (34). 1980-83 World Champs – phantom pennants, same as previous pennant with “-83” added (12). 1983 World Champs – phantom with scroll on left, maroon on white (2). Most of these unused pennants grade EX to NM.
