Whitey Ford was one of the most dominant World Series pitchers of all time, winning 10 games and hurling 33-2/3 consecutive scoreless innings, the most for any starting pitcher. This group contains 10 photos of Ford in, and after World Series action. Includes: 1955 – Ford hoisted in air, winning clinching pennant game for Yankees. 1955 – Ford with Stengel before 1955 World Series. Moderate staining both sides. 1955 – With Bob Grim, dated Oct. 1955. 1956 – dated Oct. 4, 1956, with Ford holding baseball. 1956 – Ford “reeling one in” before 1956 WS game, with Don Larsen and Tom Sturdivant, the three NYY pitchers to already beat Dodgers that series. 1961 – TWO sets of two photos each, pasted to a cardboard backing of Ford pitching in the 1961 WS against the Reds. Each is accompanied by the newspaper images. Super nice quartet. 1962- Ford, Moose Skowron and Elston Howard in locker room after Game 1 victory. 1961 – Celebrating after winning World Series, Ford in foreground. 1962 – Ford before Game 1 of World Series, large 7” x 12” image, dated on verso with newspaper caption.
