Paddy Monaghan was a bare-knuckle fighter who always “fought against the bigger guys.” He was a huge Muhammad Ali fan, and in 1967 launched a one-man campaign to protest the stripping of Ali's boxing license for his failure to enter the Vietnam War. Eventually the two became friends, and Paddy was credited of forming “the People’s Champion” moniker for Ali. This 12 x 20.5 print is numbered 676/850, and is signed “Muhammad Ali” in the lower left corner while the artist has placed his “Paddy Monaghan” signature on the right side. Each signature is in pencil. Framed to a dimension of 16” x 24.75”. LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number Q99928.
