Graded 96 MINT 9 ("MINT 9" equivalent) by SGC. Hall of Famer. The volume of boxing card production has never matched the enthusiasm of the sport's impassioned fans. During the 1950s, millions of people followed the matches, but they didn't have collectible cards as souvenirs of their favorite champions. Topps tried to remedy this situation, briefly, in 1951. The company's Ringside set gave collectors their once-in-a-decade opportunity to find boxing superstars commemorated on cardboard. Offered here is the immensely appealing 1951 Topps Ringside depiction of the charismatic champion Rocky Marciano. This piece is every bit as desirable now as it was in those days, and it reveals a virtually "as-new" level of condition, too. This robustly hued item exhibits the splendor of its issue through a distinctive, horizontally oriented illustration that's complemented to a superior extent by pack-fresh attributes in preservation. A stunningly attractive piece from a relatively unheralded card collecting niche, in elite Mint condition.
