David Robertson has developed into arguably the New York Yankees’ top relief pitcher since 2011, when the right-hander was named to the American League All-Star team. His consistency was on full display again in 2013, as Robertson posted 2.04 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 66 1/3 innings of work, making him the likely choice to replace future Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera as the team’s new closer. This game used New York Yankees home jersey was worn by Robertson in a Sept. 25 game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Robertson tossed a scoreless inning of relief in the contest with one strikeout. The left sleeve of the jersey features a beautiful stitched blue-and-gold Mariano Rivera farewell patch. The jersey features an “NY” logo on the left chest and Robertson’s number “30” on the back in navy blue tackle twill. The front tail features a New York Yankees butterfly patch with number “0000003670.” The jersey shows light evidence of game use and comes with an LOA from Steiner Sports. The jersey also is affixed with an MLB Authentication holographic sticker, number “EK809540” and Steiner Sports holographic sticker, number “200491.”
