When CC Sabathia landed with the New York Yankees in 2009, one of the game’s most dominant left-handers did exactly what the Bronx Bombers expected out of him --- deliver a World Series title. Sabathia, an AL Cy Young winner and six-time All-Star, is second among all active pitchers in complete games and fourth in shutouts. This 2013 game used Yankees home jersey was worn by Sabathia on July 14, 2013 against Minnesota, a game in which he struck out five Twins. The white-and-blue pinstriped button-down jersey shows moderate evidence of game use, especially for a pitcher. An “NY” logo appears on the front left chest of the jersey with Sabathia’s number “52” on the back, both in navy blue tackle twill. The bottom of the back of the jersey is littered with dirt stains that wrap around the front just above the “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s tag. Below the manufacturer’s tag are four affixed white tags that read “2013,” “54,” “+2 SLV,” and “+2 body,” indicating the jersey’s year, size and size modifications. The jersey comes with MLB Authentication number “EK689650” and an LOA from Steiner Sports Memorabilia.
