As he was climbing rungs up the ladder of baseball’s all-time home run leaders Mike Schmidt hit career home runs number 518, 519 and 520 during a two-game stretch in August of 1987. Schmidt hit his 23rd home run of the season and 518th of his career off of Greg Mathews of the St. Louis Cardinals in the top of the first inning of the August 14th game. Schmidt would then homer twice during the August 15th game taking Bob Forsch deep both times with this 35-inch Rawlings/Adirondack 154A model bat.

This 3-home run bat displays excellent game use with a crack at the handle. There are several ball marks, stitch impressions, black ink transfers and cleat imprints present on the barrel. The left barrel has also been slightly sanded. There are red and green bat rack streaks and there is also an impression of a weighted donut. The handle has a moderate coating of pine tar and the bat’s model number “154A”, order number “166” and year “7” are stamped on the knob. Also on the knob is Schmidt’s number “20”, which is handwritten in black marker, along with the bat’s weight “32”. Schmidt has notated the career home runs he hit with this bat on the barrel “*518 *519 *520” in bold black marker just above the Rawlings label. The Rawlings trademark red ring is wrapped around the handle. Schmidt has also signed this bat next to his notations in black marker and inscribed “3 HR BAT 1987”. A complete Mike Schmidt gamer that comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B08511) for the game use and has been given a very high grade of GU 9.5, plus a LOA from Mike Schmidt and a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
