This 32 inch, 32 ounce solid ash bat features the Hillerich & Bradsby 125 stamped label with the barrel containing a scripted Lou Gehrig facsimile signature. The barrel reveals no deadwood but does appear the bat was used a few times as intended when produced. The knob has the size “32” deeply stamped with a hand carved design. While the label stamp is somewhat light, the Lou Gehrig signature is deep and bold. Store model bats were produced by these companies to allow young children and sandlot players to use similar bats as their heroes. The bigger the star, the more desirable is the bat. This is a very nice conditioned example of a Lou Gehrig store model.
