They were affectionately known as “Dem Bums”. The lovable Dodgers, who throughout their existence in the New York borough, captured the hearts of, and regularly broke those same hearts of a long legion of Brooklyn baseball fans. Their sole World Series championship occurred in 1955, two years prior to their final season in Brooklyn. This darkly-toned ONL Giles ball contains 21 blue ink signatures (“8-9”, a few lesser) including: Walt Alston (sweet spot), Elmer Valo, Carl Furillo, Roy Campanella, Charley Neal, Sandy Koufax (a solid very early Koufax sig!), Billy Herman, Don Newcombe, Jake Pitler, Bob Kennedy, Ransom Jackson (2x’s), Dan McDevitt, Don Drysdale, Duke Snider, Gil Hodges, Rube Walker, Don Bessent, Roger Craig, Gino Cimoli and one other.
