He is the best catcher in the game today, but in 2004 Yadier Molina was still struggling to find his way into being the Cardinals full time catcher. However, by 2005, Molina was the full time guy, and has worked his way to being the best catcher in the game. He wore this jersey in the 2004 season, his rookie year. Molina wore No. 41 in both 2004 and 2005, but in the latter season, the Cardinals home jersey’s had the Busch Stadium patches on the left sleeve. This jersey does not have the patch or any outline of a patch removal. The white, button-down home jersey has the famous Cardinals name scripted across the front intertwined with the two cardinal birds perched on a bat. All are chain stitched directly onto the jersey. The number “41” is on the front and back, with his name “MOLINA” across the back on a white nameplate. This lettering is all in red on navy blue tackle twill. The lower front tail features the “Majestic Authentic” patch with attached size “50” flag tag. This jersey exhibits tremendous evidence of game use with prominent pilling on the shoulders and upper back commensurate with the friction caused by wearing catchers gear. This jersey is all original with no alterations, and is a fantastic item from the rookie season of the game’s best catcher. Full LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
