In 1967, Muhammad Ali squared off against WBA title holder Ernie Terrell at the Astrodome in Houston in a bout that was deemed the “Battle of Champions.” Ali retained his world heavyweight title, defeating A game Terrell in a 15-round unanimous decision. This signed flyer promoting the Feb. 6 fight features a vivid Ali signature in bold, blue Sharpie under the title of the 11x8.5-inch piece. The flyer shows each boxer in their respective fighting stance with an image of the Astrodome below. The top of the flyer reads (on three lines) “WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP,” “BATTLE OF CHAMPIONS” and “THE NIGHT OF RECKONING!!!” “MONDAY FEB. 6” also appears on the flyer in white type inside a black circle. The signed flyer comes with a PSA/DNA LOA, certification number “Q99871.”
