Michael Wacha had a rookie season to remember for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2013. The promising right-hander went 4-1 in nine regular season starts with a sterling 2.78 ERA. Wacha would really shine in the postseason, however, going 4-1 in five starts with a 2.64 ERA on his way to NLCS MVP honors. These signed red Nike “Shox Gamer” cleats were worn by Wacha during his memorable 2013 season. The cleats feature Wacha’s signature across the top of both feet in bold black ink over chalk residue with the inscription “GU 2013” also present. The size 13 cleats show heavy evidence of game use, including dried up grass and dirt still stuck to the bottom of the shoes. Wacha apparently laced these cleats up quite often, as some of the red mesh on both shoes is torn and a piece of the bottom of the right shoe is cracked that connects from the front of the foot to the heel. The toe of the right shoe also features thicker padding since it’s the foot Wacha pushes off with to pitch. Both cleats come with COA’s from Lojo Sports and have holographic stickers attached with certification numbers “26070” and “26071.”
