Wonderful panorama depicting the Opening Day game between the Chattanooga Lookouts and the Birmingham Barons. The 8" x 48" sepia tone print is a stellar example of the team panorama that were popular in the teens and twenties. The print originates from the collection of Birmingham's ace pitcher, Walter "Lefty" Stewart, who won 21 games that year and later went on to a 10 year major league career. The print does suffer from condition issues with a 1/2" x 2" piece taken out of the top border and water staining that partially obscures the left two Chattanooga players. There is light staining and tears in some areas and some have been repaired on the front and back with clear tape. The display quality of this stunning panorama is a unique look back at the heyday of baseball's minor leagues.
