The thrill of the chase when opening a sealed box of cards is one of the most enjoyable aspects of hobby. The target here is the rookie card of Vince Carter. During his long NBA career Carter won the 1999 Rookie of the Year award and played with eight different teams but never won a championship. The 266-card base set included “Rubies” parallels serial-numbered to 50 and a 139-card “Autographics” set with Blue parallels serial-numbered to 50. Very collectable 15-card inserts featuring Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan can be uncovered with titles such as “B.P.O., Fish Faces, Intimidation Nation, Mod Squad, Net Set, Slam Funk, Smooth, Soul of the Game, and That’s Jam.” Others rookies of note in this release include Tim Duncan, Paul Pierce, and Dirk Nowitzki.
