As a testament to his advanced ability, Duke’s Christian Laettner was the only college player selected for the “Dream Team” assembled for the Barcelona Olympic Games. So great was his showing in the tryouts that he beat out Shaquille O’Neal for the final spot. The final team swept to the Gold that summer and has been called “The Greatest Sports Team Ever Assembled”. This is Laettner’s complete game worn Olympic uniform and consists of the game jersey and shorts, warm-up suit and shooting shirt. The jersey shows moderate game use. The front of the Champion jersey has the red, white and blue “USA BASKETBALL” logo and Laettner’s number “4”. The Champion logo patch is on the left shoulder strap. “USA BASKETBALL 1992” and size “48” Champion tagging is attached on the lower right front tail. The sides of the jersey have bright red, white and blue striping. Back has “LAETTNER” in white and his number “4” below that. The matching navy blue shorts show light game use. The Champion logo patch is on the right side just below the red, white and blue ribbed waistband. The sides have bright red, white and blue striping and the “USA BASKETBALL” logo at the bottom of each side. Size “40” Champion tagging is attached to the inside back of the ribbed waistband and Laettner’s number “4” is hand written in black marker on a white tag below. White drawstring is still attached to the waistband. The game worn uniform has been graded A10 by MEARS. His two-piece warm up suit shows moderate use and has been graded by MEARS A10. The navy blue button down jacket has the “USA BASKETBALL” logo patch sewn on the right breast and has the same bright red, white and blue striping on both sides. “LAETTNER” is sewn on the back in red and white tackle twill. Size “48” Champion tagging is located inside the collar. The navy blue pants have the same matching bright red, white and blue striping on the sides as the rest of the pieces. The “USA BASKETBALL” logo patch is sewn on the right side front and the Champion logo patch is on the right front below the waistband. Size “40” Champion tagging is attached to the inside back of the ribbed waistband and Laettner’s number “4” is hand written in black marker on a white tag below. The white shooting shirt shows moderate game use, the back area surrounding his name has fabric snags and light brown stains are visible on both shoulders. The “USA BASKETBALL” logo on the front and has red, white and blue ribbed collar and cuffs. Size “XXL” Champion tagging is attached to the inside collar. The back has “LAETTNER” in red and blue letters. MEARS has graded this as shooting shirt AUTHENTIC. This is a spectacular and complete uniform set from “The Greatest Sports Team Ever Assembled”.
