Presented here is a lot of six books signed by legendary New York Yankees center fielder and Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle. Considered the greatest switch hitter in the history of Major League Baseball, Mantle is the only player in MLB history to hit 150 home runs from both sides of the plate. Mantle played the entirety of his storied 16 season career with the New York Yankees, making 12 World Series appearances and winning the title seven times. Considered one of the most potent offensive threats as a center fielder, the three-time American League MVP led the AL in home runs four times and was the AL RBI leader in 1956, the same year he won the Triple Crown. Mantle was enshrined in Cooperstown on the first ballot in 1974.

Mantle’s career has been the subject of numerous tomes, and this collection of six Mickey Mantle hard cover books are signed by the Hall of Famer. The lot contains two signed “The Mick” books written by Mickey Mantle and Herb Gluck, including a limited-edition #316 out of 536 copy. The first copy is signed by Mantle with a blue ballpoint pen on the inside cover and comes with an LOA from JSA (Y70396) for the signature. The limited-edition copy of “The Mick” is signed on the inside cover in black ink and comes with an LOA from JSA (Y70398) for the signature. The third item in this presented lot is a hard cover copy of “The Quality of Courage” by Mickey Mantle and signed by the legend on the inside cover and is signed and inscribed “To Dan” by Mantle with a blue ballpoint pen. The signature is bold, and the book is in fair condition and comes with an LOA from JSA (Z32213) for the signature. There are two hard cover copies of Mantle’s tome “My Favorite Summer 1956” that commemorated Mantle’s most productive year in baseball. The one copy features an image of Mantle holding a bat set against a blue-sky backdrop and was signed by the Hall of Famer with black ink on the inside cover. The book is in fair condition and the signature is bold. The item is accompanied by an LOA from JSA (Z50428) for the signature. The second copy of “My Favorite Summer 1956” is a blue hard cover book that features Mantle on the cover set against a blue sky backdrop. The book is in great condition and Mantle’s bold signature appears in black ink across his image on the cover and the item comes with an LOA from JSA (ZZ2811) for the signature. The final book in this presented lot is a hard cover copy of “THE EDUCATION OF A BASEBALL PLAYER” by Mantle and is signed and inscribed “To Jim Best Wishes” on the inside cover with a blue ballpoint pen. The signature is bold, and the book is in fair condition and comes with an LOA from JSA (Z32214) for the signature.
