Offered is a lot of 26 items from the personal collection of U.S. Women’s Soccer National Team star Michelle Akers, from the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. The first item in this lot is the program book for the closing ceremonies of the Atlanta 1996 Olympics, signed and inscribed by Akers on the front cover in black marker. Akers has signed her name and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature, and inscribed “1996 Olympic Gold First Olympics for Women’s Soccer Closing Ceremonies Program” below her signature.  The second item in this lot is the Official Souvenir Program the Games of the XXVI Olympiad Centennial Olympic Games, signed and inscribed on the front cover by Akers in gold marker. Akers has signed her name and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature, and inscribed “96 Olympic Gold Medal First Olympics for Women’s Soccer!” below her signature and alongside a hologram photo of the Olympic torch. The third item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on the front cover of the Orlando Olympic Soccer Official Program 1996. Akers has signed her name in black marker and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature, and “1996 Olympic Gold Medal” below her signature on the cover action photo of Akers in her US Soccer gear. 

The fourth item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on the front page of The Orlando Sentinel August 5, 1996 sports section. Akers has signed her name in black marker, inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature, and “USA Olympic Gold 1996” below her signature. The fifth item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on an 8 x 10-inch glossy reproduction of the front page of the July 11, 1999 edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Akers has signed her name in black marker, and inscribed “91 World Champs 96 Olympic Gold 99 World Champs” below her signature. The sixth item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on an 8 x 10-inch glossy reproduction of page F8 of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution edition of July 13, 1999. Akers has signed her name in black marker and inscribed “99 World Champs” below her signature. The seventh item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on a 3 x 5-inch blue paper “Day Pass” to the Main Press Center at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Akers has signed her name in black marker and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature. The eighth item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on a 5 x 7-inch color postcard team photograph caption “Good as Gold!” with the photo of the 1996 US Women’s National Soccer Team at the Olympic Gold Medal ceremony. Akers has signed her name in silver marker, inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature, and inscribed “First USA Olympic Gold Medal 1996” below her signature.  The ninth item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on a 5 x 7-inch black and white photograph postcard with the image of the 1996 U.S. Women’s Soccer team at the Gold Medal ceremony. Akers has inscribed “1996 Olympics/Gold Medal Team” in black marker across the top of the card, signed her name across the bottom and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature. The 17th item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on a 5 x 7-inch color team photo postcard of the 1996 U.S. Women’s National Team. Akers has inscribed “1996 Olympics/Gold Medal Team” in black marker across the top of the card, signed her name across the bottom and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature. The 18th item in this lot is a 1-inch black and gold cloisonné lapel pin for the “Olympic Security Team.” 

The 19th item in this lot is a 1-inch round green, gold and red cloisonné pendant of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics logo. The 20th item in this lot is a 1 x 1 ½ -inch gold, red, white and blue cloisonné lapel pin with the seal of the U.S. Department of Defense and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics logo, labelled “Joint Task Force Olympic Security Support Group Member.”  The 21st item in this lot is a limited edition (19088) gold pin of the Olympic rings and the legend “1996” in a 3 x 3-inch black vinyl case. The 22nd item in this lot is a limited edition (18779) gold pin of the Olympic rings and the legend “1996” in a 3 x 3-inch black vinyl case. The 23rd item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on the 1½ x 9½ -inch clear plastic case of a gold plastic 1996 Atlanta Olympics Swatch wristwatch. Akers has signed her name in black marker and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature. The 24th item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on a bottle of Budweiser beer. The labels on the bottle celebrated the 1996 U.S. Women’s Olympic Soccer Team Gold Medal win over China, 2-1. Akers has signed her name on the bottle in gold marker, and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature. She has inscribed “1996 Olympic Gold USA” above her signature.

The 25th item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on a 6-inch white metal Montecristo cigar tube with full cigar. Akers has signed her name in black marker on the cigar tube and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature. She has inscribed “Olympic Gold 1996 Post-Game Cigar!” below her signature. The 26th item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on the back of a USA Women’s Soccer t-shirt. The back of the t-shirt has the legend “This is the Team Now is the Time” silkscreened in blue letters. Akers has signed her name in black marker and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature. She has inscribed “96 Olympics First Ever for Wo. Soccer Olympic Gold Medal’ below her signature, and “USA Team Motto for ’96 Olympics” above her signature. This lot comes with a LOA from Akers.
