Legendary power forward Wayman Tisdale wore this warm up outfit during the 1983 Pan American Games basketball tournament in Caracas, Venezuela. Tisdale was a crucial piece of the 1983 Pan American squad, finishing with the second highest scoring average on the team, at 15.5 points per game, and pulling down 5.9 rebounds per contest. The United States finished the tournament a perfect 8-0, crushing Puerto Rico in the final game, 101-85. Tisdale dropped 20 points in the final game, clinching the gold medal for coach Jack Hartman’s men. His best game of the tournament came against Canada, when Tisdale put up 29 points and 12 rebounds in the United States’ 111-97 win.

Included in this lot are a jacket, pants, and an autographed badge. The jacket is a red button-down, with a 1983 Pan American Games patch and a Levi’s patch sewn on the left chest. Levi’s and size “XXL” flags are sewn in the back inside collar. The pants are navy blue, with a “Made In England” flag sewn on the back inside waistband. Also included is Tisdale’s badge from the 1983 Pan American Games. A photograph of Tisdale is affixed to the badge, and he has signed it in blue pen. This item comes with a LOA from Regina Tisdale, the wife of the late Wayman Tisdale.
