Offered in this lot are two game used bats from the 2004 season from Johnny Damon and Justin Morneau. The first bat in this lot is a Rawlings 225A model bat that was used by Johnny Damon. This bat displays outstanding use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks and checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact present on the barrel. There is a heavy coating of pine tar on the upper handle and the barrel had been taped in a spiral pattern, but the tape has since been removed. The bat’s model number “225A” and year “04” have been stamped on the knob and Damon’s number “18” has been handwritten in black marker on the knob. “CAVEMAN”, which was Damon’s nickname, has been stamped on the front barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14988) for the game use.

The second bat in this lot is a BWP-243 model bat used by Justin Morneau. This bat displays outstanding game use with a crack on the handle. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. There is a heavy coating of pine tar on the upper handle and the lower handle has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip. The length “5” is stamped on the knob and the weight “32.6” has been handwritten in black ink on the knob. Morneau has signed his name in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed “04 GAME USED”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13813) for the game use and a COA from Beckett Authentication (G15687) for the signature.
