Presented here are New York Mets third baseman David Wright’s cap and pants worn during the final game at Shea Stadium on September 28th, 2008 against the Florida Marlins. The Mets lost this game 4-2 as Marlins starter Scott Olsen outdueled Oliver Perez. Wright wore the offered blue Mets hat during the entire series against the Marlins, from September 26th through the game on the 28th. “Always Pops Nena Mema” and Wright’s number “5” have been written inside the cap in black marker. Wright has signed the brim of the cap in silver marker, inscribing “Last Hat @ Shea” beneath his signature. A Shea Stadium “Final Weekend” patch is affixed to the cap. The offered pants are the Mets white alternate home pants. A Majestic tag and a “5 Wright 36-42 20 0B 08 P2” swatch is sewn on the inside waistband.
