Offered in this lot are a pair of game used items from former Major League outfielder Carlos Gonzalez. The first item is a game used SAM Bat KBITT2 model bat used by Gonzalez during the 2010 season. This bat displays outstanding game use and has a crack on the top barrel with a small piece missing. There are ball marks and cleat imprints present on the barrel and the upper handle has a heavy coating of Mota Stick, with the lower handle taped around the knob to enhance the grip. Gonzalez has signed this bat in silver marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B25410) for the game use and has been given a high grade of GU 8.5. Additionally, there is an MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ061337) authenticating that this bat was broken during the August 29th, 2010 game and a LOA from Beckett Authentication (AA08548) for the signature.
The next item in this lot is the jersey Gonzalez wore to hit a grand slam during the June 26th, 2016 game in Colorado. This was Gonzalez’s 5th career grand slam and it came off Arizona Diamondbacks’ pitcher Patrick Corbin in the bottom of the fifth inning. This home white Rockies jersey with purple pinstripes has been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching to that June 26th game. This Majestic Flex Base button-down jersey has “ROCKIES” sewn on across the chest in black and white tackle twill with Gonzalez’s number “5” sewn on below in black and gray tackle twill. The Majestic Flex Base size 48 tag is screen-printed on the front left tail, while an additional Majestic bar code tag is affixed to the center tail that reads “2016 48T +2S”. The back has “GONZALEZ” and “5” sewn on in black and gray tackle twill with the MLB logo patch in Rockies colors on the back collar. The left sleeve has a Rockies logo patch. Gonzalez has signed this jersey on the middle of the “5” on the back and inscribed “2016 GAME USED” on the top of the “5”. This jersey comes with a LOA from Resolution Photomatching (426438), who have matched this jersey to the June 26th, 2016 game, plus a LOA from Beckett Authentication for Gonzalez’s signature.
