Presented is a lot of two Detroit Tigers game-used baseball caps, worn by Ian Kinsler in 2014 and Victor Martinez in 2013. Four-time MLB All-Star second baseman Kinsler wore this navy cap, with the Old English “D” logo embroidered in orange on the front during the 2014 season.  In 2014, Kinsler led the American League in at bats (684; also an all-time Tigers record), was 4th in hits (188) and doubles (40), and was 5th in runs scored (100; scoring 100 runs for the fifth time in his career). The button on top of the cap is also orange.  On the left side of the cap is “Postseason 2014” patch in red, white and blue sewn-in, while at the back of the cap is the embroidered red, white and blue MLB logo. Kinsler’s number, “3”, is handwritten in black marker on the underside of the New Era cap. This cap comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ395407), which dates this cap to Nov. 5, 2014.

The second cap in this lot was worn by Prince Fielder during the 2013 season. This navy cap has the Old English “D” logo embroidered in white on the front.  There is a white MLB logo embroidered in the back of the cap.  Fielder’s number, “28”, is written in black marker on the underside of the New Era cap. “JSG” is also inscribed on the inside of the crown in black marker penned by Tigers clubhouse manager Jim Schmakel verifying the item was indeed worn by Fielder. This cap comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (EK862463). Please note that MLB has labeled both caps “Team Issued,” a common designation for items collected after the season.
