Offered is a lot of two Ted Williams signed pieces. The first is a silver coin proof card, on which the legendary Boston Red Sox slugger has signed his name in black marker. The 6 x 6-inch color card has a silver coin encapsulated in the upper right corner. The card is labelled at the bottom left, “Ted Williams National Baseball Hall of Fame” below a color photograph of Williams kneeling on a field with his bat in a white Boston uniform (no logo on the blue cap).  To the right is small image of Williams swinging a bat, in a white uniform with “Red Sox” on the front and no logo on the blue cap. Beneath that image is caption, “521 Home Runs.” The upper left corner on the card’s front has a logo reading “500 Club Hall of Fame The Legends of Baseball” in a gold circle with a green baseball diamond in the center.  The silver coin features a head & shoulder image of Williams engraved on the front, with the legend “Legends of Baseball Ted Williams” encircling Williams’ image. The back of the coin features an engraving of the National Baseball Hall of Fame building in Cooperstown, New York, along with the legend, “National Baseball Hall of Fame 500 Club Cooperstown USA”. On the back of the card, and the lower left below the coin, is a small photo of Williams in uniform with the caption “9 Ted Williams” and the text “All I want out of life,” the Splendid Splinter once said, “Is that when I walk down the street folks will say “There goes the Greatest Hitter who ever lived.’”

It was just that determination that propelled him to two Triple Crowns, six batting championships and a .344 lifetime average.” To the right is a four-paragraph summary of Williams’ career along with his career statistics and player information at the top, under the legend, “Theodore S. Williams.” The second item in this lot is a 2 ¾ x 3 ½-inch baseball card reproducing a painting by artist Robert Stephen Simon of Williams at bat.  Williams has signed his name in blue marker horizontally across the front of the card. The back of the white card has blue and black printing, identifying it as “Robert Stephen Simon’s Super Star Card Set Ted Williams.”  The bottom left corner identifies the card as “No. 3 © TCMA Ltd., Peekskill, NY 10566”.  These items come with individual LOAs from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
