Willie Randolph was a standout player for the New York Yankees. A member of the 1977 and 1978 World Series-winning teams, Randolph was a steady presence at second base and at the plate. Randolph finished his career with 2,210 hits. After stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland A’s and Milwaukee Brewers, Randolph’s final season in the Majors was spent with his hometown New York Mets in 1992.
Offered here are three game used bats from Willie Randolph’s playing days. The first bat is a Rawlings Big Stick model bat that displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are blue ink transfers and checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact present on the barrel. There is a light coating of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barrel area. Randolph signed his name in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “Game Used.”
The second bat is a Cooper PRO 100 model bat that displays excellent game use. This un-cracked bat has checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel and remnants of the upper handle being taped in a criss-cross pattern. There is a coating of pine tar on the upper handle and “WR” is handwritten on the knob. Randolph has signed the barrel in black marker and inscribed “Game Used.” The third bat is a Worth WC136 model bat that displays solid game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, black bat rack streaks and black ink transfers present on the barrel. A light coating of pine tar is on the upper handle. Randolph has signed this bat in black marker and inscribed “Game Used.” These bats derive from the collection of Willie Randolph and a signed LOA will accompany these bats.
