After spending his entire career in the Major Leagues as both an all-star player and a coach, Willie Randolph decided to take a different path in baseballs and represent his country as a coach from Team USA.  In 2013, Randolph got a taste of international competition as the third base coach for Team USA form the World Baseball Classic.  In 2015 Randolph won the US National Coach of the Year Award and was again on the coaching staff for the 2017 World Baseball Classic.  The United States was an inaugural member of the World Baseball Classic, making its debut in the first edition. In their first three appearances in the WBC, the best finish for the Americans was fourth place in 2009.  Finally, in 2017, a new team managed by Jim Leyland, and led by the likes of Adam Jones, Marcus Stroman, and Eric Hosmer, won the tournament.

This collection of five 2017 World Baseball Classic baseballs comes from the collection of Willie Randolph.  The first of the five baseballs have been signed by the coaching staff of Tino Martinez, Jim Leyland, Alan Trammell, Jeff Jones, and Willie Randolph. The other four baseballs consist of 27 signatures including Hall of Fame coach Jim Leyland, former MVP’s Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich, and Andrew McCutchen along with superstars Buster Posey, Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt, Alex Bregman, Ian Kinsler, Daniel Murphy, Eric Hosmer, Adam Jones and several other active All Stars.  The autographs have been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
