Willie Randolph was a standout player for the New York Yankees. A member of the 1977 and 1978 World Series-winning teams, Randolph was a steady presence at second base and at the plate. Randolph finished his career with 2,210 hits. Following his playing career that ended after the 1992 season, Randolph joined the coaching ranks and re-joined the Yankees in 1994. Randolph coached with the Yankees until he was appointed New York Mets manager for the 2005 season.

Offered here are five bats that come from the personal collection of Willie Randolph. Two of the bats are game use, while the other three are game issued. The first game used bat was used by Ken Griffey, Sr. Griffey’s Louisville Slugger S216 model bat displays outstanding game and is un-cracked There are ball marks, blue ink transfers and checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact present on the barrel. The handle has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip. The second gamer is from Roy White, whose Hillerich & Bradsby Mc44 model bat displays light game use with a crack on the barrel. The handle has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip and White’s number “17” has been handwritten on the knob.

The next three bats are game issued bats and include a Bobby Murcer Louisville Slugger S2L model bat, a Graig Nettles Louisville Slugger S43 model bat and an Elliott Maddux Hillerich & Bradsby Bi-Centennial R43 model bat. These bats derive from the collection of Willie Randolph and a signed LOA from Willie Randolph will accompany these bats.
