Presented is a lot of seven game-used New York Mets baseball caps, with five of the caps signed by Mets player including Bud Harrelson. The first baseball cap in this lot is a navy Mets cap with orange piping and the Mets interlocking “NY” logo embroidered in orange. These “pillbox” style caps were worn by the Mets in the 1976 Bicentennial season. Former New York shortstop Bud Harrelson has signed his name in silver marker on the brim and inscribed “Game Used 1976” below his signature. Harrelson is the only person to take part in both Mets’ World Series championships; he won in 1969 as a player and in 1986 as a coach. This baseball cap comes with a STICKER ONLY from Beckett Authentication (E84903).
The second baseball cap in this lot is a size 7 KM Pro Cap blue Mets hat signed on the underside of the brim by former New York Mets shortstop Roy McMillan in black pen. McMillan ended his 16-season year MLB career with the Mets from 1964-1966. This baseball cap comes with a STICKER ONLY from Beckett Authentication (D84696). The third baseball cap in this lot is size a 6 7/8 KM Pro Cap blue Mets hat signed on the underside of the brim by former New York Mets outfielder Art Shamsky in black marker. Shamsky has inscribed “Best Wishes” in black marker above his signature. In 1969 Shamsky hit .300 (second on the team), with a .375 on-base percentage, a .488 slugging percentage, and 14 home runs (second on the team) as half of a right field platoon with Ron Swoboda for the World Champion Mets. The fourth baseball cap in this lot is a blue Mets cap signed on the underside of the brim in blue marker by former Mets relief pitcher John Franco. The fifth baseball cap in this lot is a New Era size 7 1/2 blue Mets cap signed by former Mets slugger Donn Clendenon on the underside of the brim in black marker. Clendenon is best remembered as the World Series MVP for the 1969 "Amazin' Mets." This baseball cap comes with a STICKER ONLY from Beckett Authentication (D86498). The sixth baseball cap in this lot is a black Mets cap with a blue brim and button, and the Mets interlocking “NY” logo embroidered on the front in blue and orange. The seventh baseball cap in this lot is a blue Mets cap with orange piping on the crown and the Mets interlocking “NY” logo embroidered on the front in orange. These “pillbox” style caps were worn by the Mets in the 1976 Bicentennial season.
