To honor the men who built the NBA into a global proving ground for the best basketball players in the world, the NBA created the iconic “50 Greatest Players” list for its 50th Anniversary in the 1996-97 NBA season. This list commemorates a who’s-who of NBA icons, from the early stars George Mikan and Paul Arizin, to modern day greats Shaquille O’Neal and Patrick Ewing. When this list was created, the 50 honored players had accumulated 107 NBA Championships, 49 Most Valuable Player Awards, 17 Rookie of the Year honors, 447 All-Star Game selections, 36 scoring titles, 923,791 total points and 410,327 total rebounds between them.

This lithograph has been signed by every honored player, with the sad exception of Pete Maravich, who passed away in 1988 at the age of 40.
