August Card & Memorabilia Auction Closing August 28-29
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 8/28/2021
After winning the “Money in the Bank” briefcase during the Pay-Per-View event on
July 13th, 2013, WWE superstar Randy Orton “cashed in” his opportunity and took
on a battle-weary Daniel Bryan, who had just defeated WWE icon John Cena to win
the coveted WWE Championship belt at the main event of SummerSlam 2013 – held
at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on August 18th, 2013. To help Orton further,
Triple H, who had previously served as guest referee for the John Cena/Daniel Bryan
match, surprised Bryan by delivering his signature move the Pedigree, thus making it
a mere formality for Orton to deliver the decisive pinfall and claim the title in only 8
seconds.
Coming directly from the WWE Corporation, is the very “Money in the Bank”
briefcase originally won by Orton and then cashed in during the finale of
SummerSlam 2013. This metal case is painted red and has the “MONEY IN THE
BANK” logo painted on in green and yellow, covering most of the side. There are two
clips on the top, along with a handle. This case displays excellent use with various
scratches and an indentation on the upper corner. A great piece of WWE history and
this comes with an LOA from the WWE Corporation, authenticating that this was
used by Randy Orton during the 2013 SummerSlam event.
