Roberto Clemente was one of the most exciting baseball players of his era, an electrifying outfielder who was a true five-tool player. A member of both the 1960 and 1971 Pirates World Series champion teams, the humble Clemente quietly amassed exactly 3,000 hits in his 18 season career. A 12-time National League All-Star, Clemente earned 12 consecutive Gold Glove Awards between 1961 and 1972. Tragically, Clemente is best known for his much-too-early death in a plane crash off the coast of Puerto Rico. Clemente is pictured here in his home Pirates uniform. Clemente signed the photograph in blue marker, adding the inscription “Best Wishes” above his signature. This photograph, which measures 8 x 10 inches, comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AC00054).
