The legendary forward Alfredo Di Stefano was presented with this silver scale model of the Estadio Bernabeu. The Bernabeu is the home of Real Madrid, Di Stefano’s club for the majority of his lengthy professional career. Di Stefano, who received international caps from Argentina, Colombia, and Spain, played for Real Madrid from 1953 to 1964, winning eight La Liga titles and five European Cup titles. Di Stefano was a five-time winner of the Pichichi Trophy, given annually to the highest scorer in the Spanish First Division, and was a two-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, world soccer’s most prestigious individual accolade. This model of the Bernabeu measures approximately 3 x 7.5 inches at its widest dimensions. The model, which features two enamel Real Madrid crests affixed to the stadium’s ramparts, stands on a wooden base measuring 10 x 11 inches. A plaque affixed to the base reads “Alfredo Di Stefano / ‘La Saeta Rubia’”. “La Saeta Rubia” was Di Stefano’s nickname, which translates in English to “The Blond Arrow”. This model of the Estadio Bernabeu comes in a green presentation box. This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
