On March 1, 1976, Steve Wozniak would revolutionize the world of personal computing when he created the Apple 1. The noted electronics engineer and computer programmer designed the hardware, circuit board designs and operating system for the computer by himself. After failing to sell the computer to other corporations such as Hewlett Packard, his friend and fellow computer enthusiast Steve Jobs suggested they start their own company. After Jobs returned from a trip to Oregon where he visited an apple orchard, the two decided on “Apple” as the name of their company. Wozniak sold his HP scientific calculator and Jobs sold his Volkswagen van to finance the fledgling company, and the two created and assembled their first order of computers in Jobs’ parents’ garage. The Apple 1 computer launched the Apple brand that would go on to dominate and fundamentally change the computing landscape, introducing personal computing to the masses.

The presented item is a 14 x 11-inch photo of the first Apple 1 created by Wozniak and signed by the famed computer engineer. The image features the keyboard and monitor resting on a wooden base with the exposed circuit board and wires located on the end of the computer base. Wozniak signed and inscribed “THINK DIFFERENT” and “(MY) Apple 1” with a blue marker. The signature and inscriptions are bold and the photo is in excellent condition. The signed photo of the Apple 1 computer created by Wozniak and signed by Wozniak comes with a Wozniak Hologram.
