During his boxing career, Sugar Ray Leonard fought 40 times, won 36 bouts, lost three, and drew one. He won gold as an amateur in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. He fought in five different weight divisions from welterweight to light heavyweight and secured the WBA Welterweight and Light Middleweight belts, and the WBC Welterweight, Middleweight, Super Middleweight, and Light Heavyweight belts. Leonard has boldly signed the replica WBA belt in silver Sharpie, "Sugar Ray Leonard" on the left and inscribed "HoF 97" on the right (grade 10). A COA from PSA/DNA accompanies the belt (#5A17989). This replica WBA belt is black vinyl trimmed in woven maroon twill. The gold-plated WBA insignia bears the red and white WBA circular brand with WBA President Gilberto Mandoza signature, creed (Co-operation, Uniformity, Control), emblem (two boxers facing off, balanced atop the world), slogan (Boxing as an International Sport), and founding (Since 1921). The insignia is topped with clear and red rhinestones in the shape of a crown. A smaller, faceless insignia sits to the left and right of the center, large insignia. The belt fastens with a large Velcro patch on the tapered ends. A small, circular red and white WBA insignia written in Spanish (Asociacion Mundial De Boxeo) can be found on the right-hand belt end. The belt's reverse is white faux fur.
