“Souljah’s Revenge” was the sixth track on Tupac Shakur’s masterful sophomore album “Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z...”. Released in February of 1993, this album was Tupac’s follow-up to “2Pacalypse Now”, and it continues to expand on the themes of social consciousness, living in poverty, and the threats presented to young, black American men in the inner city. The lead single on “Strictly” is the seminal “Holler If You Hear Me”, which samples songs by Funkadelic, George Clinton, and Public Enemy.

Offered here are two pages of handwritten working lyrics to “Souljah’s Revenge” written in Tupac’s own hand. The lyrics offer a scathing indictment of predatory capitalism, with Shakur writing “The game is to control ya / Paid top dollar for your soul” and similar messages relating to life in the city. Written above the lyrics is “Verse 1” and “Souljah Revenge”. The lyrics have been written in black pen on two pages of notebook paper. Both pages are in good condition. The lyrics come with a LOA from JSA.
